Workshop: Art Study of Atlanta Trees with Patricia Causey

Learn about tree characteristics and the basics of nature-themed watercolor painting in this workshop led by Architect, Artist, and Long-time Trees Atlanta Volunteer Patricia Causey. This workshop includes a study of trees, an introduction to watercolor painting techniques, and a welcoming, inclusive environment for painters of all skill levels. About the Instructor: Patricia Causey started her love affair with watercolor as a Fine Arts minor while studying Architecture. In the last ten years, she’s created hundreds of illustrations through watercolor for various commissions, projects, and products, collaborating with brands such as West Elm, Bloomingdales, and Sixpenny. Her favorite subjects are people, florals, and fashion - often inspired by her travels and everyday life.

  • Doors open at 9:30am

  • Getting Here: Bike racks are located on the side of the building close to the Atlanta BeltLine path and near the grain silo. We are approximately 1 mile from the Oakland City and West End MARTA train stations (Red and Gold Lines) Limited number of parking spaces are available at our location in addition to limited street parking.

  • Registration Information:

    • Single Ticket (covers workshop materials and instructor costs) - $30

    • Show Love to Trees Atlanta (Single Ticket + Covers Planning Costs) -$40

    • Pay it Forward (Single Ticket + Scholarship for another participant) - $50

  • Cancellation Policy: All cancellation requests must be emailed to education@treesatlanta.org. Cancelation requests that are not made via email will not be honored.

    • Two weeks or less before the event date: No refund of program fee

    • More than two weeks prior to the event date: Refund minus a $15 administrative fee

    • If there is a need for Trees Atlanta to cancel an event, participants will receive a full refund.

Artist Workshop Series: 33oaks

Join Patricia, owner of Patricia FK Design & Illustration, for an evening of watercolor painting exploring the Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra). This workshop is designed to be a fun, creative approach to tree identification using an art technique and a focus on oak species as a way to look with intention and learn about the trees in our local ecosystem.

ANYONE can participate in these workshops! No special skills, experience, or artistic abilities required. All materials provided. Beginners are encouraged. All learners are welcome.
